Brazed carbide precision tools
Tungsten carbide tools are mainly used in finish machining in small series and for large tool diameters for cost reasons, since they can be reground and re-equipped several times. Because it is possible to produce them in an almost limitless variety of shapes, you get a step-free surface on your workpiece. The material to be cut ranges from cast iron to aluminum and steel.
Carbide-tipped helical milling cutters are successfully used in the finishing of mold and die making and in general mechanical engineering. Carbide tipped milling cutters (hedgehog cutters) rough with a very soft cut due to the extremely firm solder connection and an extremely positive geometry during grinding. Alternating errors due to sintering and inclusion tolerances, screw loosening and failure in extreme machining are eliminated. The mono construction guarantees stable conditions, especially if deep cavities (such as in mold and die construction) are required. If the clamping is unstable, the soldered tool is the first choice.
